5 reasons I love...

I have now had my iPhone for nearly a year and although the questions raised over whether or not this is the best thing since sliced bread are still hotly debated I am a firm believer in this product and it has brought nothing but simplicity, efficiency and fun to my telecomms world!

So keep on debating, this is a world which claims to believe in free speech after all and if you hate apple and think this phone is rubbish then who am I to argue... I still think your all stupid though ;)

Anyway what has it done for me lately:-

1) It keeps me truly connected on the go

Yes I love the way I have access to all my email accounts in one user freindly and very easy to navigate mail application. Plus it is also a phone (obviously!) again with a very easy to use interface and useful grouping features available to keep all contacts divided up nicely from work, social and family etc.

2) I am never without my music

As with many of you (or so I assume), music is a key element of my life! It soothes me, inspires me or motivates me depending on what I need at the time. I have always carried my music with me, since I was 10 years old and used to listen to my Yazz tape (my first ever tape) on a rather bulky Sony Walkman.

Now I have a whole host of diverse music to listen to whenever I want and I dont need to carry a seperate device plus I have radio (through an app) or the likes of last.FM available to me. If I am out and about I can listen to my beats through my headphones or trip it through a radio, at home or at friends I can dock it and instantly force my musical tastes on others... what more could I ask for!

3) Internet + Google Maps = HAPPY

Being able to surf the web whenever and wherever I want is brilliant as I am a web developer (and a geek) so it's kind of my life!

Not to mention... "Aaaagh I am lost", "Oh wait not anymore I am not with good old Google Maps". I was already a fan on the PC but putting this in the palm of my hand and showing me where I am (and pretty darn responsively too I might add) is the stuff that dreams are made of surely. Ok it doesnt have a robotic attempt at a sultry female voice trying to navigate me... but I can live without that... honest!

4) Apps for me, apps for you, apps for everybody!

Tons of useful applications for my sleek black number at the touch of a button and either at a low cost or even FREE!I currently have at least 20 apps on my phone which I think are amazing... but thats for another blog.

5) Wi Fi brings it all together

This is a device that you simply couldnt run without a web based phone contract, well you probably could but it would cost a small fortune! I love being able to use the 3G connection while I am out and about but the wi fi connection is definitely the seller. Quick and easy, speedy download rates and a simple intuitive connection interface make this my pocket dream machine.

How very dare you!

So you assume just because I am a man of a certain age who lives alone and likes to take care of himself that I must take it up the Gary? How very dare you!!!

It may be a line from a sketch show but it has been stuck in my head all day. I work with loads of othet lads and out of the five I am good mates with four are now on some sort of diet or excercise regime.

Then socially loads of the lads are in the same boat... Cutting down drink, eating better, excercise!

I read an article today related to how this credit crunch is going to be linked to an increase in obesity. Reading this while sat at a table eating a healthy choice soup and the guy next to me is enjoying (and I use the term loosely) what is essentially a garnish sandwich (pitta with lettuce and coleslaw).

I guess the credit crunch has not had a direct effect on my work/social circle just yet. But maybe that's because we are all getting a little bit older, and taking care of ourselves a little bit better. How very dare you!
